30 Degrees this morning, “feels like 26”, 58% humidity
Yesterday was generally kind of nasty weather wise. Temperatures decreased and the wind increased. As long as there is no snow, rain , etc., it really doesn’t bother me!
Still have an occasional cough, but feeling much better. Main problem now is “Costochondritis,” the technical term for an inflamed rib cage cartilage. It is not fun thing to have.
Actually, I have never taken Tylenol before, I was pleasantly surprised of how it helped control the pain, especially in the middle of the night. The ice pack helped also, more than I thought it would.
Unfortunately it can last for “days to weeks” before it is resolved. At least it isn’t a sign of a more serious problem like a heart problem. I really hate to think of having to deal with this much longer, much less “weeks”.
A person in a Toastmasters Club we belong to had her mother die suddenly of a heart attack. It was even more personalized since we had just met her at the recent “Thanksgiving” party and she was the picture of life. She wasn’t “old” by todays standards, so it was a shock to everyone.
Have a very early meeting this morning, so don’t know how long this post will be today, In any event, I like to think I write only want I want to write for that day or time? Cold this morning, but no rain or snow, thank goodness.
Technically, I started this years ago just to write a few thoughts when the urge hit me. It morphed into something else which I like, where I normally write about the same length, although I don’t really have any specific length in mind.
I don’t know if I’ve shared this before here or not, but I figured (through some convoluted logic) that I have probably been in the car for 2400 hours during the last five years. That didn’t seem like a lot until I realized it was 100 24 hour days or 300 8 hour days! Not sure what that means, but it is a fun statistic to know.
I was going to figure what percentage of my life I spent in the car, but I’m not sure if I want to know.
As I mentioned before, I really like Christmas music and already am feeling the end of the Christmas music for this year, although there is still two weeks until Christmas. That is why I happily started listening on November 1, when it first started on Sirius XM.
I do have a quibble with several songs though. First of all, the song “Baby It’s Cold Outside, I have to question why it is even considered a Christmas song, in addition to the other obvious problems with the song or at least the situation.
“Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” also is disturbing, that Rudolph is apparently bullied and ignored until Santa chooses him to guide the sleigh, where all the other reindeer suddenly start sucking up to him.
There are more important things in the world, but I would be happy if I never heard “Baby It’s Cold Outside” again, much less consider it a Christmas song.
That’s it for now, Monday, December 10, 2019.
