2019 Fall December 11 Wednesday

31 Degrees this morning, 60% humidity

Yesterday started off as cold (28 degrees), became a relatively nice day with a high of 48 degrees, but no wind, so it was actually nice for short trips outside.

Continue to feel better, although my rib muscles (or cartridge or whatever) still hurt.  They hurt the same regardless of the name.

Interesting day yesterday at work.  One of those occasions I can’t go into detail, but it was interesting and presented a new light on several aspects.

Preparing for the details of or vacation.  Always makes it more real when I take care of the details like mail stop etc and start thinking of final details.

I read a bit more about the song “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”.  I hadn’t heard anything about it, but there are many stories throughout the years pointing out the negative sides of the lyrics.

I am just amazed they continue to play it so much for that reason as well as the fact there is nothing  Christmas about it except for the weather.

I assume the “Winter” aspect of it is one reason, kind of like “Frosty the Snowman,” which I don’t think has anything specifically about Christmas.

As far as “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” I think it is time to say that songs like that are over, right or wrong.  There are plenty of defenses to it regarding the time it was written in, but I feel  it is  very inappropriate in today’s world as a Christmas related song.

Also looked up “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”.  I confess, I always thought of “Reindeer” as “Raindeer” until spell check refused to approve it as a word.

Strange how our minds work, but I never saw the word as “Reindeer”.

On the other hand, probably not something to be all that concerned about.  At least I finally learned the correct way to spell it!

Did the 85,000 mile maintenance check on the Toyota Camry the other day.  Somehow there are always extra “preventive” maintenance costs,  but then I haven’t had any problems at all with the car and I am sure if I didn’t do something and ended up sitting on the side of the road, I’d wish I had had the work performed.

When I think of past cars, this car has had relatively little maintenance costs, especially for 85,000 miles.

Hoping I can keep it for a while it.  It has been an excellent car, except for the body, which appears to have a design flaw on the front “bumper” or whatever they call they now.  I recently read that the average car on the road now is 12 years old.

That’s it for now, Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
